Club and contacts
Hovawart club of the Czech republic, c.a. is a voluntary apolitical association of owners, breeders and fans of the dog breed hovawart. It is the only club dedicated to this breed in the Czech republic. It is a member of the International Canine Federation (FCI) and the International Federation of hovawarts IHF (Internationale Hovawart Föderation). The club ensures the promotion of the breed, increasing the level of breeding and protecting dogs against abuse. Its main purpose and activity is breeding and future breeding of the dog breed hovawart. The aim of the breeding of hovawarts in the Czech republic is mainly maintaining the characteristics of the breed according to the approved standard of FCI and improving the quality of individuals with regards to their working and social usability, achieving the greatest genetic variability, quality of the exterior of the individual, minimizing the health and temperament divergences.
Membership of the Club is open regardless the nationality. Ownership of a hovawart is not a condition of membership.
The Club organizes annually the assessments of young dogs, breeding assessments, Club and Special Shows
